Here is some of the stuff we did this spring.
The kids wanted to go camping but with Cortis working all the time on the iPad app he just isn't available. I'll do a lot of things but I didn't quite feel comfortable going camping with just the kids so we set up the tent in the backyard and camped out there. We had s'mores over the grill just like real camping.
Of course, before we could backyard camp I had to fix the gate to the backyard. Too freaky with it hanging open precariously. This is what it looked like after I took it down.
Here's the new gate. Phoenix was my helper.
Here's the back side with Adam.
Heidi and I got to go to a girl scout activity and learn about bird-watching. Surprisingly, much more interesting than it sounds.
In the springtime in Texas, the Bluebonnets bloom and it is a tradition to take your pictures in them. Most people take really beautiful photos. I never got around to it so one day when I saw a nice patch and told the kids to stand in front of them for a quick photo.
Here's Heidi
I think I took these with my phone so I didn't know what I got til I saw them on my computer.
Phoenix
and Adam
Well, technically there ARE bluebonnets in the frame as well as the children but I'm not sending these to the grandparents!
The YMCA had their climbing tower open one day. Cortis, Heidi and Phoenix got hooked up and attempted to climb. I think we took more photos with Cortis' camera but I ended up with ones of Phoenix.
Getting started.
On his way up.
Check him out. He is all the way at the top. I was a little worried about him at this point because to get down he would have to climb over the edge and let the harness and the belayer lower him. But he did that too. Good job Phoenix!
That same day at the YMCA they also had a bow and arrow station open. Here's Heidi's first shot that hit the target.
Cortis' first shot in the target.
Phoenix's first shot in the target.
